India. My Dear Spiritual Niece Bhn Masha, Please accept my best wishes. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Thankyou for your letter cited below with my comments. I have noted the contents carefully. > Dear Maharajas, pamro, > All glories to Srila Prabhupada and His genuine followers! > > I would like to submit one humble question to You. > Recently I have read one text from SB 11.2(Maharaja Nimi Meets > Navayogendras). > I became very interested because I found it exactly about my case. > > Text 12. > sruto 'nupatito dhyata > adrto vanumoditah > sadyah punati sad-dharmo > deva-visva-druho 'pi hi > > Pure devotional service rendered to the Supreme Lord is spiritualy > so potent that simply by hearing about such transcendental service, > by chanting it's glories on response, by meditating on it, by > respectfuly and faithfuly accepting it, or by praising the devotional > service of others, evevn persons who hate the demigods and all > living beings can be immediately purified. > > In this regard I have one question which was not rised in the > purport. From what such persons become purified? Purification means freedom from contamination. Contamination is the misidentification of the self as the body; is aversion to devotional service to Lord Sri Krishna; is anything which is an obstruction to our self-realization. When one is "purified" then one is "pure". Purity is the force! Only when we are purified can we understand Lord Sri Krishna as He is and take up devotional service in pure Krishna consciousness. > And what > about if their "hate" not go fully? For example Vritrasura > seemingly hated Indre. But from other hand > pure devotee do not hate persons, > understanding them to be part and parsels or Krsna and > his trobles as the result of own karma and Krsna mercy. If one can be purified from a more severe version of a disease then the lighter versions shouldn't be a problem. > But what about hate to the circumstances in which > somebody pressing on us in order we accept something > francly materialistic or do something materialistic, > so what about "hate" to this? If one is averse to non-devotional activities that is auspicious. However we usually don't describe that aversion as "hate". Since "hate" would mean an emotional preocupation with the negative thoughts against that object of hate. A devotee may be averse to non-devotional service, but they don't hate them. They aren't interested either positively or negatively. > Or if they do not become > complitely purefied it is mean that they do not fulfill the > other items of the text accepting only one or few of this "by" doing? The word "or" is used so it means any one of the items. If the word "and" had been used then it would have meant all of the items. Note: "...or by praising the devotional service of others..." > And about words "immediately" and "can", does it meen that they > can but possibly will not? And if will, than is it "immediately" > in accordance with the demigods calculation? In all of these descriptions of the glories of the holy name or devotional services the personal aspect of Lord Sri Krishna's mercy is always present. Lord Sri Krishna is free to give the mercy or not give it. The point is that it "can" happen immediately and that means that it has happened in the past. Don't ask me what are the exact circumstances in which it might not happen since that can vary from one situation to another. > Sorry it seems to be not a question, but a set of questions. > > If You so kind clarify please. I have tried to do so. > Please fogiver me for me is taking You time, but I see You as a proper > persons to unswer my inquaries, if me only is competent to ask, if > no, then tell me directly please in order I do not bother Your goodselfs. I don't mind. > vancha kalpa-tarubhyas ca krpa sindhubhya eva ca > patitanam pavanebhyo vaisnavebhyo namo namah > > Hope this meets You in good health. > ys Masha I hope that this finds you in good health.
