Unless I know some sastra about it I wouldn't ban it. I don't know any

reason not to eat cheese if it is purely vegetarian.

> Why not eating cheese that is vegetarian and

nobody

> says nothing about sugar that everybody knows that to make it white

karmis

Srila Prabhupada was asked about white sugar and His Divine Grace's comment

was that in KALI YUGA everything was comtaminated. He considered avoiding

sugar was impossible. On the other hand Srila Prabhupada in Mayapur said it

was better to do everything by devotees as anything done by karmis got some

of their karma rubbed off on it. When it was done as a devotional service

by devotees, especially on temple property, it was karma free. Srila

Prabhupada also advised the Mayapur devotees to use gur instead of outside

sugar. So if there is a suitable substite available Srila Prabhupada wasn't

against it.

> > Today I heared from devotees that the GBC's spoke about cheese and

it's

I haven't heard of such a resolution. I think it must be some individual

GBC member who has advised this. I have never seen such a resolution on

this topic of cheese. Please send me a copy if you have it.

So it seems you need to take cheese.

I personally prefer to take other alternatives than white sugar, although

sometimes it is hard to avoid.

Generally things made by non-devotees usually can't be offered to Lord Sri

Krishna unless they are raw ingredients which are cooked by devotees. In

some temples nothing pre-cooked by non-devotees is offered. In Arbenteur

(Goloka Dhama) Germany they have their own pasta making machine and they

make the pasta they offer to the Deities.

I hope that this helped.

I hope that this finds you in good health.

Your ever well wisher,

Jayapataka Swami
