In BG remnants of sacrifice are said to destroy sins. During the presence of Srila Prabhupada these banana remnants were distributed as prasadam. Now sometimes they are left. I don't know where this idea not to eat the offering to the fire comes from. I haven't seen it in writing anywhere so far. Sastra is our ultimate authority on all these things. I cannot say it shouldn't be eaten unless I see some specific sastra on the topic. I hope that this finds you in good health. Yr > sservandt, Malati dd I don't see any reason for it to be changed. Anything offered in the fire to Lord Visnu becomes prasadam as far as I know.
