Guest guest
Camp: Mathura-desa Nama Hattas, Arabian Gulf Area, Middle East, Arabian Sea. My Dear Spiritual Nephew Jayadeva das, Please accept my best wishes. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Thankyou for your letter cited below with my comments. I have noted the contents carefully. > Hare Krsna Jayapataka Maharaja, > Please accept my most humble obeisances at your lotus feet. All glories to > ISKCON founder-acarya Srila Prabhupada. > I was just thinking of some questions about Nityananda Prabhu that I > was wondering if you would be so kind to answer. > 1. It is said that when Abhirama Thakur would bow down to any un-bonafide > Deity it would crack. I've heard a pastime that he was bowing down to Lord > Nityananda's children and they were being killed, because they did'nt have > sufficient potency( all except Virabhadra). How is it possible that the > children of the Supreme Personality of Godhead were'nt sufficiently > qualified? Was this just for the sake of pastimes? Abhirama Rama das was a direct associate of Lord Nityananda and is directly Sridhama the eternal cowherd friend of Lord Sri Krishna. When he would bow down to Deities that weren't properly installed or stones that were being worshipped as shaligram shilas that weren't actually saligramas--they would pulverise into dust! So the history is that Abhiram Thakur went to offer obeisances to the new born babies of Lord Nityananda but when he did so they died. It is considered that they weren't worthy of being the children of Lord Nityananda. Only when Ksirodakshayi Visnu incarnated as Bircandra Prabhu and Ganga devi as Gangadevi Goswamini, Lord Nityananda's son and daughter then they sustained the obeisances of Abhirama Prabhu. Lord Advaita, who is Mahavisnu Avatara, had six children, but three were pure devotees and three went off and didn't follow Lord Advaita. These are the mysteries of the Lord's pastimes. > 2. It is said that when the Supreme Lord descends he follows all the rules > and regulations and religious principles in order to teach the general > mass of people how to act. But as Lord Nityananda, He acts in many > contradictory and unorthodox ways. Indeed, he acts like a mad person! So > what is the essence of Lord Nityananda's pastimes? What is it that we are > supposed to understand and learn from His behavior and activities? Lord Nityananda is mad in love of Lord Sri Krishna. He is Avadhuta, which means He is above the normal social norms since He is transcendentally situated. Lord Nityananda would become so absorbed in Lord Sri Krishna's pastimes that He would act simply in that ecstacy and not consider what it was appearing like to outside people. This sometimes happened with Lord Sri Krishna Caitanya Mahaprabhu also, but He usually controlled Himself more. These pastimes of Lord Nityananda give the devotees great joy and bliss. The pastimes demonstrate how wonderful is the full spiritual happiness of Krishna consciousness. > 3. How can we receive the full mercy and blessings of Lord Nityananda? One is to never think ill of Lord Nityananda Prabhu. If one gets the mercy of Lord Nityananda then one can easily get the mercy of Lord Sri Krishna Caitanya Mahaprabhu!!! Since Lord Nityananda Prabhu is the original Spiritual Master one can please Him by serving His dear representative: one's bona fide Spiritual Master. > Thank you for your time. Hare Krsna. Hoping to one day be a servant of > your servant, > jayadeva dasa Thankyou for asking a question about our dear Lord Nityananda Prabhu. May He bless us all with Krishna Prema very soon! I hope that this finds you in good health. Your well wisher, Jayapataka Swami
