My Dear Spiritual Daughter Rasa Rasika dd,

 

Please accept my blessings. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Thankyou for your question.

 

In this regard we need to free ourselves from envy and jealosy. Srila

Prabhupada has given a simple self check whether we are in the material or

spiritual world:

 

"Those who are jealous and envious, they are within this material world. And

those who arenot jealous, they are in the spiritual world. Simple thing. You

test yourself. Whether I am jealous, envious of my other associates,

friends. everything. Then I am in the material world. And if I am not

jealous, then I'm in the spiritual world. Anyone can test. There is no

question of whether I'm spiritually advanced or not. You can test yourself.

Bhakti paresanu bhava viraktri anyatra syat. Just like if you are eating,

you'll understand whether you are satisfied, whether your hunger is

satisfied. You haven't got to take certificate from others. Similarly, if

you test yourself, whether you are jealous, whether you are envious, then

you are in the material world.

And if you are not jealous, if you are not envious, then in the spiritual

world. Then you can serve Krsna very nicely. "

Since physically we are living in the material world until we get Back to

Godhead we need to tolerate that this world is full of jealosy and prepare

ourselves for returning back to Lord Sri Krishna! In this regard Srila

Prabhupada wrote:

 

" Otherwise the material, whole world is full of jealousy. Even during the

time of Krsna there was Paundra, out of jealousy. And there were so many.

Beginning from Krsna's birth the asuras were jealous--"How to kill Krsna."

This is the whole mat.... Even in the higher planetary system the jealousy

is there, asuras and the devas, devasura. So our business is, as instructed

by Caitanya Mahaprabhu, trnad api sunicena taror api sahisnuna. This

jealousy will go on. Therefore one has to learn how to tolerate jealousy.

Please always be careful to avoid jealousy and envy towards others.

Remember Guru & Krishna and tolerate this material world of envy and

jealousy remaining determined to achieve pure love for Lord Sri Krishna!.
