All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Thankyou for your letter cited below with my comments. I have noted the contents carefully. > Dear Srila Acaryapada, > > Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to you and Srila > Prabhupada. > > I think it is in the Gita purport to the "bahunam janmanam ante..." verse > that Srila Prabhupada states in the very beginning that only after many, > many lifetimes of faithfully worshiping the Lord (or Deity) one realizes > that Vasudeva is everything and actually surrenders to Him fully. So one > might wonder, what chance is there for me? I get this strong feeling that > it's not exactly "many lifetimes" now I've been worshiping the Lord. How > should I feel about this? > > I found a similar explanation in a purport by Hridayananda Maharaja in the > 11th Canto. Please forgive the inaccuracy of your foolish disciple. > > Your servant > Isana Caitanya dasa Srila Prabhupada has repleid to a disciple once who asked a similar question that the disciples good fortune was made by Srila Prabhupada. In other words the Spiritual Master, previous acaryas or Lord Sri Krishna Caitanya Mahaprabhu can also give some special mercy even if otherwise one isn't qualified. That is the unlimited causeless mercy of Lord Sri Krishna Caitanya Mahaprabhu. However, in such a situation one should be very careful to continue cautiously in devotional service. I hope that this finds you in good health. Your ever well wisher, Jayapataka Swami
