Guest guest
Question: > My neighbour died a couple of weeks ago and I came to visit shortly after > his demise. I sprinkled Ganges water and put tulasi neck-beads on him, and > I said a prayer for him. Was this proper? What should one do when he finds > himself faced with a person leaving his/her body? What should we do if the > person is already passed away, as in this case? Answer: If you sprinkle Ganga water on a dead body that can be enough to deliver the person back to Godhead. Ganga water is very powerful. If you want to give that kind of mercy to someone it is proper to do so. Putting Deity Tulasi on the chest, in the mouth or on the head is also auspicious. Putting a Deity prasadam flower garland on the upper body is also auspicious. If someone is leaving their body then if they can chant and/or hear Hare Krishna or chant or hear BG or SB it is very auspicious.
