All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Thankyou for your letter cited below with my comments. I have noted the contents carefully. > Dear Acaryapada, please accept my humble obeisances at your lotus > feet. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.ISKON bhakta-vrinda ki jaya. > Could you please kindly tell me of the proper etiquette for going > into saffron. Is there a general rule or is it different in zones or > temples? > Your eternal servant. > Bhakta Luke. Some temples give saffron to all brahmacari's who graduate from the bhakta program while others give bhaktas of all grades yellow or white cloth. In many temples they give saffron only after receiving the first initiation. Some places consider it appropriate to give saffron for those who have no idea of getting married at the time they are wearing saffron. If one is actively considering getting married and/or is planning to discuss with a woman for that purpose then wearing saffron isn't appropriate. Saffron color is supposed to represent a kind of fire of renunciation and while one wears it one should not engage in cultivating any kind of material relationship with a woman or engage in any kind of sex life. I hope that this finds you in good health. Your ever well wisher, Jayapataka Swami
