Travelling is an emergency situation and at that time we cannot follow all the detailed rules and regulations. there is a vedic maxim that states "emergency knows no rules". One shouldn't walk and chant gayatri, even some say that applies to a moving vehicle as well. Being in a train for 24 hours or a jet for a long flight then one doesn't have much choice. Actually we are not moving at that time although the vehicle we are in is moving. I hope that this finds you in good health.
