In the train to South India one day before Janmastami: Please let me allways be under your divine influence and causeless mercy. Many times I heard that the gopies see Krsna just as their lover and friend, as the cowherd boy, the son of Maharaja Nanda and Mother Jasoda. They are not thinking of Him as god. In the Narada Bhakti-sutras (aphorism 22 and 23) it is said that they never forgot His godly position, otherwise their love would be just worldly.
