Guest guest
If you cannot finish sixteen rounds, then you must not sleep on that day, you must not eat. ®r…mad-Bh€gavatam 1.16.35 -- Hawaii, January 28, 1974 M€lat…: But we should not sleep when we have, in place of our devotional service. Prabhup€da: No, of course not. Devotional service is first. M€lat…: So if we miss some sleep we should do it. Prabhup€da: We should forego sleeping even. The real regulated life is that if sixteen rounds is not completed, then we have to forego sleeping. Morning Walk at Stow Lake -- March 23, 1968, San Francisco If I cannot finish my sixteen rounds due to some business, then next day I must finish it. If you say that “Next day also, I am busy,” then you should forego your eating and sleeping and finish it. That is the way. Morning Walk -- April 20, 1974, Hyderabad Everyone should strictly follow the regulations of 16 rounds daily. If one is busy for other Krishna Consciousness activities and cannot fulfill the regular routine of chanting, he must compensate it the next day, curtailing his activities in the matter of sleeping or eating or any other sense gratificatory process. Letter to: Jagadisa -- Tittenhurst 11 October, 1969 When the work has to be done, do it first, then chant. But you must fulfill at least 16 rounds daily. So if necessary sleep less but you have to finish your minimum number of rounds. Letter to: Kirtiraja -- Bombay 2 January, 1972
