All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Generally when someone in the material world commits suicide they must remain on the subtle platform as a ghost until at least the time of their natural life would have been over. It is a "no-win" situation to commit suicide. Now in the case of devotees there are many factors one might consider, Still there is no guarantee they won't meet the same fate. If some friends have offered prasadam to their departed souls, or pindi in gaya or put ganges water on their bodies or any similar kind of method of given a departed soul blessings then their is some hope that they could take another birth and continue their devotional service. Once a new devotee visiting the temple in New York in about 1969 committed suicide and Srila Prabhupada when he heard was crying and praying to Lord Sri Krishna for this departed soul. Srila Prabhupada said that Lord Sri Krishna had sent the soul to us, but we failed to save him and now where has the soul gone? He prayed for the devotee to be allowed to immediately take birth in a family of devotees and continue on with his devotional service. So by His Divine Grace's causeless mercy this devotee could get a chance to avoid the normal result of committing suicide and take birth. I hope that this finds you in good health.
