It is given in various other Puranas also, no doubt. Srila Prabhupada as our Founder-Acarya and spiritual master has explained what the words of the sastra mean. This is the duty of the spiritual master. He should explain what the sometimes cryptic words of sastra mean. SB said: > Suta Gosvami said: When the second millennium overlapped the third, > the great sage [Vyasadeva] was born to Parasara in the womb of Satyavati, > the daughter of Vasu. So what does it mean that the second millennium overlapped the third? That is what Srila Prabhupada has explained. The verse itself states the thing, but to understand it clearly one needs a spiritual master to explain it. This is the system of Guru-parampara. In order to understand Krishna consciousness we have the benefit of sadhu, guru and sastra. I hope this helps you.
