With out imperfect > senses how can we choose a real Guru, Sadhu, Sastra. I have chosen > iskcon by my imperfect senses only. How it will be right? We know Sastra from Sastra itself. Sastra is defined in sastra and is the basis. Also sadhus and guru tell us what sastra is. Rupa Goswami states: Sruti, Smrti, Puranadi, pancaratra vidhim vina eikantik hari bhaktim utpataiteva kalpate (forgive the spelling) This means that rules and instructions other then the authorized vedic texts, maha-bharata, histories, puranas and smriti sastra, and the pancaratra are simply a disturbance for pure devotional service. This is Guru or sadhu instructing us about sastra. In sastra the qualities of a bona fide guru and sadhu are also mentioned. We can test the veracity of a sadhu or guru from the qualities described in Sastra. Also from the example of previous bona fide sadhu's and acaryas in our line. Like this two of the three help us to understand the third. I hope that this finds you in good health.
