Guest guest
> Really, there can be no argument that the GBC is meant to be the ultimate > spiritual arbiter in ISKCON. I think we all agree on this. Just wanted to make a quick comment that the question of whether "ultimate" management authority is necessarily "ultimate" spiritual authority in ISKCON is very much open for debate. I, for one, am not at all convinced that the GBC should be seen as ISKCON's ultimate spiritual authority. What about simply "guru, sadhu and sastra" ? Should the GBC body be the "acharya" for ISKCON? I doubt it. In fact, I think that, to a large extent, its attempts at giving philosophical siddhanta to our society have been failures and cause for major divisions. There are strong arguments against seeing the GBC as the ultimate spiritual authority presented in a paper by BHaktarupa prabhu submitted to the GBC last NOvember in relation to the rtvik conflict. I have asked his permission to post that paper here. Your servant, Pancaratna das
