Guest guest
>No, this is simply a misunderstanding. In Kali-yuga Vaishnavas do not go to the forest. Thank you Prabhuji. This is the undestanding that I too have from Guru, Sadhu, and Shastra. Kalikale Dharma – Hari Nama Sankirtana. Kali Kale Dharma is not Varnashrama Dharma. Ofcourse we are not going to reject anything as long as it can be used for propagating Bhagavata Dharma. Srila Prabhupada did not shed buckets and buckets of blood to propogate Varnashrama. He established ISKCON to propagate Bhagavat Dharma. In the introduction to Srimadbhagavatam, Srila Prabhupada clearly explains, in the conversation between Ramananda and Lord Caitanya, that the Varnashrama followed by Hindus is superficial. Later when Ramanandaraya proposes Sravanam, Kirtanam, Lord Caitanya agrees. Srila Prabhupada says that the further and more advanced topics are presented in Teachings Of Lord Caitanya, but the beginning of devotional service is Sravanam and Kirtanam. Varnasrama is already present in some crude form or the other in all ages , at all times, in all places. We do not have to make a special endeavour to establish that. All Prabhupada wanted us to do was, to give Krishna to others. Just by adding Krishna to our life, we automatically become a member of Daivi Varnasrama. If there is a cobbler maintaining his family by stitching shoes, by nature of work he is a Sudra. But he is not a real Sudra until he adds Krishna to his life. If he added 16 rounds of Hare Krishna Mahamantra, and follow four regulative principles, with out stopping what he is already doing, that is maintaining his family by stitching shoes then he will become a Sudra in the real sense. Varnasrama is included already in Bhagavata Dharma. I agree with most of your other points. So if we accept these points, unbiasedly, then, you will have to withdraw your statements, that you made against the Sannyasis, in your previous mail. Let us not say, that Sannyasis are not fit for administrative jobs, only Grihasthas, are, etc. Sannyasi, Vanaprasthi, Grihasthas, Brahmacari , Brahmana, Ksatriya, Vaisya and Sudra are all bodily designation. Jivera Svarupa hoi, nityera Krishna Das. Let us not apply philosophy according to our perceptions and convenience. When it comes to Sannyasis we apply Varnasrama, and when it comes to Grihasthas we apply Bhagavatha Philosophy. Now tell us whether GBC should be restructured according to Varnasrama or according to Bhagavatha Dharma. >The resignation of the GBC was proposed due to failure in performing their duty. Again I repeat my question, what is your measurable, for this qualitative statement. I do not want to go through the whole cycle once again. I will just give one example. If some one says, “Cakra” has become very Unpopular, then what is the measurable. Somebody cannot make a statement by his perception, and get away. We need data. If the data shows that since the time of inception, every year the number of visitors to “Cakra” are , say the last 3 years, are 200000, 100000, 50000 then we accept the statement. When we have data we have a clearer picture, and then we can discuss problems and try to fix the problems by mercy of Vaishnavas,Guru and Krishna. So what is the scale or measurable that we have, to make the above grave statement. Some of the measurables, that we can have to find out whether we are expanding or not are For every 5 year period since the time of regestring ISKCON, We should have some data like 1. No of devotees 2. No of books distributed. 3. No of Temples. 4. No of Farm Communities. 5. No of Namahattas/Bhakti Vriksha Groups 6. No of Holy Names chanted Some more measurables we can have. Then we can see a very clear picture whether we are improving are not improving. May be we are doing very well in 3 of the above 6 then we can discuss how we can improve on the other 3. Also it will clearly show, which 5 year period, have we really dipped down. Blaming the society for our personal problems is not good. Or blaming different departments/individuals for the society problems is also not good. We all have to work together to fix problems. When there is a problem, it is not You or They, it is Us. Your humble servant, Bhadra Govinda Das.
