Guest guest
Since I was actually born in the holy dham in India into a very pious Vaisnava family that has worshipped Krsna for centuries, I'm not impressed by your macho wordjugglery!! As Krsna says in the Gita, "if anyone with love gives me a leaf, a flower or water I accept." There is no mention of gender specific roles. Radhe Radhe!! Mira Venu-pani (das) KKD (Radhadesh - B) [Venu-pani.KKD (AT) pamho (DOT) net] Tuesday, October 23, 2001 5:07 AM Mishra, Mira; 'Raghu (John) Anudas'; GBC Unmoderated Who the Raghu is? > shame on all men and brainwashed women who do not believe in > spiritual and material equality for women in the name of religion. > > radhe radhe!! > mm Hare Krishna! Shri Radhe has highest Krishna consciousness. At the same time, she happily carries the pot with milk on her head - for Her Krishna! She eternally tends to her various household duties conscientiously. FYI, when this Kali Age finishes, and even when the whole universe dissolves, she continues to happily serve Krishna as a milkmaid/gopi. She doesn't seam to care much for contemporary conceptions of equality... What value is there in equality? Shri Radhe is SUPERIOR due to Her SERVICE QUALITY. Maybe Western cultural nuances are not what makes one happy? Shame on exploitation, indeed - but NOT on cultural values, and values of higher consciousness, of traditional village where Krishna is in the centre. Equality accomodates differentiation of duties, as equality reffers to right to devotion to Krishna. In administration and few other duties there is a need for certain intensity involved, which in normal conditions rarely suits gentle female nature of a caring mother, even if she can "go through motions" of such duties, proving that "she can do it!" Such duties tend to be more suiting for protective, father-like nature of a healthy man. Exceptions can't be turned into rule, and it is the question how well and satisfactory such exceptions can be accomodated to properly serve the community rather then to serve the lone interest and desire of such non-standard, demanding individual, on the expense of well-being of the whole community in the long run.
