Because we aren't concerned about some karmakandiya principles. But the respect must be offered to merely some dress, a piece of cloth (actually, a silk, nowadays) of an imposer. The important and most essential principles of varnasrama dharma must not be followed by the "gurus of the society" (sannyasis), no disgrace in breaking their celibacy vows. While not following some minor injunction (from somewhere, maybe even from Manu-samhita) of offering a respect to their dresses merely, is seen as something "very bad", and is an unacceptable thing. I can't get it, which kind of discriminating criteria is in application here? I really have to admit to be completely confused with this. Any light there on the end of this tunnel? - mnd
