You would only be able to see that it didn't work with those for whom it didn't Of course you're speaking in a general sense, but there are individuals who took the philosophy and utilised it to change themselves - if change is indeed the right word. It is possible, and there are examples of this everywhere. Transcendence as opposed to 'curing'. > > One example is my former spiritual master who very much suffers under a > post traumatic stress discorder he got from his childhood. We still have lots of similar people in leading positions, but > fortunately Srila Prabhupada is always there and of course, Krsna, The > Supreme Controller. Philosophy brings realisation. If the realisation is that you are God, then who can help you If the realisation is that you need to deal with something from your childhood, then the philosophy cannot said to be "not working". That is part of the process - practising the philosophy brings certain things to the surface. The philosophy works - the practitioners often don't, then cry 'foul' and want their 'money back' Braja Sevaki dd

So it is really by not practicing Krishna consciousness > that one becomes crazy. You may have seen people who's problems who became normal again by chanting the HK mantra and I am not going to question this here since I don't claim to believe that it will not work, but I have also seen devotees who were fixed on chanting their rounds and who are still mentaly disturbed since the time they joined. Just one example is a women who lived in the temple and who chanted their rounds every day during the japa time (just for the prove that she did chanting). She has quite mentaly problems ( due to a very bad childhood) and after many years of watching her even the spiritual master asked her last year to make a therapy. I don't know if she ever started, but I just heard from the TP that she wasn't tolerable anymore and they forbade her to enter the temple anymore. By chanting offensiveless (what sems to me difficult) I am fully convinced that such people are getting completely healed. Y.s.
