For, as you said it literally, "too bad" > and "so what" if kids were abused there in gurukula. <snip> Correction: When it was suggested on TD that Srila Prabhupada must have known what went on with the children in the guru-kulas, and therefore should be held at least partly responsible, I countered this offensive idea by saying that it didn't really matter what Srila Prabhupada knew or didn't know, because he is beyond reproach. A pure devotee like Srila Prabhupada cannot be judged by mundane moral and ethics. I never, ever, said something along the lines of 'so what if the kids were abused.' I don't know why you persist with the silly idea that I don't care for the abused children. I feel weary that I should have to constantly explain myself and assert that I am not against the protection of our children. Maybe your problem is that, like the Christians, you just can't understand how one can believe in karma and reincarnation and at the same time feel compassion for those who are suffering. Personally I don't find it to be a problem, but maybe we could have it as a subject for discussion to help you better understand these seemingly contradictory concepts.
