I'm actually not interested in speaking with Ekanath, and never indicated that I was. Nor anyone else from TD who share similar views. And I wonder at the validity of keeping TD open 'for a while'. Seems no justifiable reason to do so. Everyone on TD seems to think they have a 'right' to speak their mind and 'be heard', when that mindset is offensive to Srila Prabhupada and the philosophy. That is completely bogus. If you don't agree with the philosophy or with Srila Prabhupada, you're no orphan - but WHY stick around and try to change the philosophy, or argue it and claim that it is 'intelligent discussion'. It's not - it's simply offensiveness. Some spiritual intelligence is required here to establish what is 'discussion' and what is 'offensive'. That this is unclear to most on TD is indicative of that forum's uselessness. We had this discussion a few weeks ago on GBCU, where MR said that 'we don't have a consensus for what is right and wrong'. This is patently ridiculous. We have the philosophy, and we have Srila Prabhupada's teachings and books. Mukunda datta also brought up siddhanta. These things are very clear as to what is 'right and wrong'. There is no question when one's intelligence is clear. If the intelligence is clouded and contaminated, then there are so many doubts. It takes a certain modicum of humility to be able to identify one's lack of intelligence - proper intelligence, not the mere ability to process mundane information. There are plenty out there doing that, and I don't consider them worthy of respect any more than I do the person who, dressed as a 'vaishnava', considers certain philosophical precepts 'absurd', 'uninformed', 'ignorant', and so on. This is the topic that disturbs me the most. And it simply *is* a matter of who is right and who is wrong - that must be established right from the beginning if this discussion is to develop, and if this forum is to genuinely represent 'vaishnava discussion'. There *is* a 'right' and there is a 'wrong', and that's all there is to it - no mundane "politically correct" considerations required. It seems to me that TD would be the most appropriate place to discuss problems with that conference. Babhru
