Rama Keshava is a granddisciple, too. It would have been inapproriate, I think, if he had made remarks critical of Tamal Krishna Maharaj or Jayapataka Maharaj, or any of the members' gurus; it seems to me just as inappropriate for them to criticize his. The point was that the reason why it was not appropriate was to protect the granddsiciples of Srila Prabhupada from the deviations in the literatures of the non-ISKCON Vaisnava authors. Particularly, one translation of BVT Swami in his Bhagavad-gita was literally speaking "taken apart" as to "demonstrate" how he was deviating from Srila Prabhupada's translations/comments, how BVT Swami was simply a kind of a "muni" who misinterprets Krsna's words for the sake of diverting our attention from Krsna onto himself.. And so on, and so on. Yet, outside of that forum, there seems not to be any problem to promote the same books for the sake of selling them, even to same granddsiciples of Srila Prabhupada. Personally, I really could care less, for I do understand that we got to make some money for the living. So sell what you want. Just that it is painful to see how the devotees (the pottential cutomers) get so much attacked by the same persons somewhere else as not loyal to ISKCON and Prabhupada for their interst to read and understand the writings of these same non-ISKCON authors. And the very disciple of BVT Swami was attacked as the one who was intruding another Matha (not really just "GD" conference) for lobbying the audience against Srila Prabhupada's instruction not to read any other books like these, that he bettter keep staying aside with his "splinter" group of his Guru Maharaja in this regard and not disturb the members of ISKCON with this work of his Guru-Maharaja, the work that was judged as an unncesarilly pretentious product, a kind of show-off for the sake of his name, fame and glory... BWT Sami, his Guru Maharaj, was put up on the stand and scrutinized for his "crime" of splitting with the GBC and leaving ISKCON.. Much more. ----------------- Btw. What Akhilesvara meant with his analogy was that those "Arabs" who criticize and call Americans "demons" for their culture and the way of living, go and consume/distribute the very products of that criticized culture -- themselves. (It had nothing to do with you personally and your family, nor calling anybody here a demon, nor reading into anybody's heart...) - mnd
