True. He calls it a sister Dasa. But you are right, Vimshottari is an Udu

Dasa (Nakshatra based) whereas his definition of Moola Dasa is Rasi based.

So it is very difficult to see the relationship bewteen the two. As one

senior astrologer said about this article by SR:

"Lack of proper knowledge of Parashara leads to this confusion in the minds

of those who have no astrological commonsense. They should read Parashara

again and see the distinction made between Kendradi dasha and Mandook Dasha

and also read JAIMINI SUTRAM OF PS SASTRY TO SEE HOW THESE TWO DASHAS ARE

DISTINGUISHED. To take up the horoscope of Lord Rama to explain it !!!

Damnable escapism it is."

So you are not the only one who discerned this anomoly. It is just one more

of the wrong things about this article, which I am told he also published as

part of one his books.

I would assume in the same way they work for other Dasa

systems--proportionaly.

Yes, another good point.

I recall a senior protege of SR who once demonstrated to us all his theory

that because each Mahadasha was caluculated on a different basis this meant

it had to do with only a certain aspect of his life. This is not an exact

quote (I have it somewhere) but something along the line that since

VImshottari is based on the Moon's position it reflected the emotions of the

person for that period. He went on and on. It sounded like a lot of New Age

rubbish if you ask me.

So I asked him for a public demontration of his theory. I provided a chart

and asked him to comment on a certain time frame. He ended up using about

10-20 different Mahadasa's to detail the chart. Unfortunately not one of his

anylysis came even close to the facts which were that the man was a

pedophile and was spending a long time in prison. As the saying goes: if you

want to hit water better to sink one well down 1000 feet than 20 wells for

50 feet. Using Vimshottari Dasa and Gochara it was easy to see the actual

situation. So much for knowing 40+ mahadasa systems.
