Dear Shyamasundara Prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Here I'm sitting very peacefully behind my laptop, and I don't want

anything of this envy which is going around in the Jyotish world, time

again and again.

Yes, I have had some dispute with Mr. Rath some time ago, and took the

opportunity of an auspicious muhurtha to ask for forgiveness. Is it

hypocrisy to change one's mind? If so, then tank you for calling me such.

First Dina-natha had written something similar to me in private, but since

you now bring it to the open, I'll reply to the open as well. Ask

yourself, what is better - unity, or separativeness? To ask forgiveness,

or to envy a person?

You probably will have an astrological reason for all this strange news to

happen... Do you? You have seen the flaws in the chart of Mr. Rath, but

why don't you reveal your own birth data then, so that we cannot see the

flaws in your chart as well? Why are you hiding them?

Indeed, unfortunately the 8th house which gives the study of the occult,

also represents secret enemies, and that's why there is so much envy in

the Jyotish world today. I just now recall the example of the

mirror-effect: those flaws which are present in our own hearts, we will

see them in the hearts of those we envy. Probably the rishis of ancient

times knew to deal with these things, and could keep their minds cool with

sadhana of mantra recitation. I don't say you are not doing like that, you

are a devotee.

Regarding your charges of teaching the wrong things, there is a distinct

difference between siksa in Jyotish, which is a vedanga, and the

Veda-philosophy. You must know this. E.g. the art of shooting an arrow,

and the art of pleasing Krsna with a puja and understanding of

bhakti-yoga, is it the same?

Your servant,

Dhira Krsna dasa

Letter PAMHO:7046309 (427 lines) [W1]

Internet: "Gauranga Das" <gauranga (AT) brihaspati (DOT) net>

Shyamasundara (das) ACBSP (Vedic Astrologer) (USA) [21527]

Dear Shyamasundara prabhu,

PAMHO, AGTSP.

I'm open to discuss this issue wuith you, however after repeated emails to

you I have not got any answer. This has been going on since more than half a

year when I came to find out who Sanjay really is and what is the

authenticity of his knowledge. However instead of backstabs I would expect

help from You and other learned devotee astrologers as to what would be the

best way to further my Jyotish studies which I would l;ike to deepen and in

fact I'm in search of new contact and authentic Indian astrologers who can

teach me properly. You are the authority on Jyotish in ISKCON, as you have

become the Minister of Jyotish after Hari Sauri Prabhu resigned. So

obviously I will follow what you say, but I would like to have the

opportunity to honestly discuss all the aspects of this issue, as I did it

with your very good friend, Kesava Bharati Maharaj. If you are willing to

give me guidence in these things, then I'm open to comply. By the way, I was

appointed as Jyotish Guru in the then SJVC by Sanjay back in the year 2001.

The complications arose in the beginning of 2003, and I have not payed any

fees to SJC since they have introduced this system. Also those, who approach

me, I do not force them to enrol SJC. So my contact with SJC now is only in

me taking part in the Vedic-astrology discussion list, where

I'm representing my own understanding in concordance with our ISKCON

Guru-parampara. In fact I would like to see more devotee astrologers

participating in such a huge list as this one (more than 1200 members) so

that we could fight the all/pervading mist of Mayavada and Karma-mimamsa

contamination thta is called Hidnuism nowadays. It requires a lot of effort

and study, and deeper understanding of our own philosophy and rituals. I

would like to see, for example a detailed discussion on remedial measures

applicable and recommendable by Vaishnava astrolgers. This requires a lot of

research, and also guidance from authentic knowers of Jyotish and

Pancaratriki rituals.

I have also had lengthy email discussions with Dina nath prabhu, who was one

of the intimate disciples of Sanjay's for more than three years. Clearly, he

relinquished any relatinship with Sanjay, but when I asked him how does he

forther his studies, he said he was reading books by the standard authors

like Rama, Shastri etc. This thing I'm alos doing, but I aspire for more.

After having gnoe through dozens of classic and modern books of Jyotish, I

would like to enquire into the still unclear details of application, let

alone severl parts of BPHS which I have read several times and have

translated into Hungarian also. The same stands for Jaimini Sutram. I'm

getting into the Prasna Marga in the next coming year, but proper guidance

would be very useful I think. So I hope to hear from You soon and discuss

these questions in detail, including the Jyotish aspect of the things.

Incidentally, this question of the exact chronology of events in Lord Rama's

life came up recently on the VA list. I'm adding the email on the bottom of

this letter. I also agree that Lord Ramacandra's life events worth study,

because we know the planetary positions, so some nicne conclusions could be

drawn. As for the applicability and especuially Paramayus of Dasas in his

chart, this is an interesting question. To this time I have heard of two

solutions for people living in other ages:

1. The Paramayus should be increased or multiplied by 10, 100 etc. for other

yugas.

2. Recurring cycles of the same dasa should be used.

In this regard int would be interesing to know what are the ages stated for

Lord Rama's life events. If anyone has full Ramayana (also available on the

Net) and has time to browse through it in this respect, thne it would be

very useful. As you see from below, other Puranas also mention dates. So

this requires a lot of reading. Also, if Lord Rama lived for tens of

thousands of years, then should we take 15 years oor 27 years as literal

solar years, or as years of that increased life span (150 or 270 years etc.)

Events and period should be compared thoroughly to see which time

calculation method fits in. By the way I wrote a fairly comprehensive

article on Time and Space in Vedas and Puranas, which can be read on my

website. I would like to hear the opinions of the learned devotees.

Also, maybe it is more realistic to test the applicability of rules for

strength for Moola Dasa and other Dasas on contemporary charts, because it

looks like the Jyotish rules we are given are specifically attuned to our

time and place, i.e. the Earth, more specifically India (see the

controversion on hora calculation from sunrise in extreme latitudes), as

well as to the Kali yuga or times adjoining it. Sri Krishna is also said to

have stayed for 125 years on the Earth, so I think standard Paramayus may be

fairly acceptable for Dasas in His chart.

And now the email clipping:

Jaya Jagannatha

Dear Sanjayji,

Skanda Purana Book III Brahma Khand

Section II: Dharmaranya-Khand

Chapter 30

Sloka 12. In the twenty-seventh year of Rama, even as the King was to crown

him heir apparent to the throne, Kaikeyi requested him for two boons.

Slokas 13 - 14. With one of them Rama accompanied by Sita and Laksmana was

to go in exile wearing matted hair, for fourteen years* "May my Bharata be

the heir apparent" was the seocnd boon. It was due to being deluded by

Manthara's words that she chose this boon.

_________

* Valmiki Ramayana II.11.26a - 27b states that Kaikeyi wanted only Rama to

be banished. "may Rama be an ascetic in the Dandaka forest for fourteen

years. Sita and Laksmana were not mentioned.

I had a look at my copy of Tulasidas' Sri Ramacharitamanasa, and it does not

state which age he went in exile.

[Ram came to Nandigram on vaishakh shukl 6th and became king on next day.

SEETA was 35 and RAM was 42 at that time.]

This timing seems to be out of sync.

Dear Sarabani, Swee & Anilkumar,

can you check this from your skanda purana and give me the sanskrit sloka

for it.

Check specifically if it is 22nd year or 27th year for vanvas. This is

crucial in evaluation of strengths and our understanding. I always thought

Rama went in His 25th year (alternative-2) but maybe wrong and stand to be

corrected. That is the spirit of truth in seeking the truth in Jyotish. We

should not hesitate to admit mistakes and correct our understanding.

Understanding the strengths in Moola dasa is very tough.

According to me the calculations should be

Alternative -1

Moon 10 years

Jupiter 11 years

-----------------------

21 years

Saturn 14 years (Vanvas)

-

35 years

Rajyoga 2 SUN coronation

36 year

Now as per this the reding can be

Alternative -2

Moon 10 years

Jupiter 11 years

-----------------------

21 years

Mars 3

---------------------------

24 years

Saturn 14 years (Vanvas)

-

38 years

Rajyoga 2 SUN coronation

40 year

Alternative-3 (matches Skanda Purana)

Moon 10 years

Jupiter 11 years

-----------------------

21 years

Mars 3

---------------------------

24 years

Sun 2

----------------------------

26 years

Saturn 14 years (Vanvas)

-

40 years

Venus 12

52 year

[vedic astrology] EVENT DETAILS OF SHREE RAM

Dear Friends

RAM KRISHN HARE

>From SKAND PURAN(brahm khand-dharmarany mahatmy),here are

some details about SHREE RAM

In 27th year RAM went to forest and stayed at Panchvati for 12.5

years.

On Magh krishn 8,Seeta-haran took place.

SEETA remained separated from RAM for 14 months and 10 days.

HANUMAN burned lanka on margshirsh shukla 13.

RAM started on margshirsh krishn 8,exact mid-day in vijay muhurt.

Vibhishan met RAM on paush shukl 4.

Setu-bandhan started on 10th and completed in 4 days on paush shukl

14.

War started on magh shukl 2 and lasted till chaitr krishn 14 for 87

days.

Ram came to Nandigram on vaishakh shukl 6th and became king on next

day.

SEETA was 35 and RAM was 42 at that time.

BTW, as per observed tradition,Ravan was killed on Vijya-dashmi

and SHREE RAM returned back on Diwali. These festivals are selebrated

to remember these events since that time and named after these events.

Dash-hara and vijaya-dashmi both means defeat of Ravan and Victory

of SHREE RAM. Similarly rows of oil lamps were made to selebrate HIS

arrival and hence the name DEEPAVALI.

Above details do not match with traditional one and hence they may not

be for present kalp. There are many more details about some minor

events

which I have skipped. some of them do not have complete information.

THANKS

Anilkumar
