Please accept my humble obeisances.

In one ASTROLOGICAL ANALYSIS in the page of

http://www.journalofastrology.com/ are cited "Vedic" reasons why Indians

would like to have male child.

 

I would like to know if this reasons are also necesary or important for

Vaisnavas (is there something about that in HBV?) or are below reasons more

part of karma kanda.

 

 

> One of his strongest desires is, that after him there should be someone,

> who will carry his and his ancestors name forward and offer libations of

> water ("tarpan") to their spirits. And that can only be a son, and for

> obtaining a son, man observes all kinds of fasts, gives donations to

> Brahmins and saints, goes on pilgrimages, and makes a vow to Gods and

> Goddesses.
