If a good astrologer knows the day of birth then he can rectify

for time on the basis of the person's life events i.e marriage , death of

parents , major illnesses or accidents .However not having the time can

still be a drawback as even good atrsologers can interpret the case in

different ways . In Iskcon we had the long running still unresolved debate

as to whether Srila Prabhupada was Saggitarius or Capricorn rising

(personally I believe the Capricorn ascendent should be adopted as I would

only discard the birth time if it gave a really bad fit and Capricorn Lagna

gives a good fit although one has to understand the not so common Vipareet

Raja Yoga to see it) .Also non-Iskcon Vedic astrologers argue whether Bill

Clinton is Virgo or Cancer lagna .Again I take it as Virgo because this is

the time his mother gave and it gives a reasonable fit .The cancer lagna is

speculative . As you can see not even having the day makes it very difficult

to rectify .

 

In this case one can approach a good atrologer honestly and sincerely once

only and get him to draw up the current chart (prasna) .This can then be

used as a birth chart . Another thing that can be interesting is to draw up

a chart for the time one joined Iskcon .
