Guest guest
Haribol I do not think we should discuss marital compatibilities as in working with devotee's charts on this forum for several reasons (1) Astrology should be treated as confidential between the client and astrologer .This is the practise for doctors, psychiatrists, counsellors etc. and there are very good reasons for it which are also applicable in astrology. (2) The astrologer should test the client and the client should test the astrologer.Doing astrology blind is far more difficult for both client and astrologer particularly for inexperienced astrologers . (3) There are management considerations also such as who arranged the marriage and does it have the SM's blessings .Do the devotees think it is a good match ? Management has often had an ambivalent attitude to astrology and astrologers have to tread very carefully. (4) I doubt there are many astrologers on this conference who have sufficient knowledge ,experience and training to make such a calculation. Marriage is a serious business and misuse of astrology incurrs heavy karma. That said I do not want to discourage devotees in astrology .I realise there are few expert astrologers in Iskcon and going to non-Iskcon astrologers rarely in my experience produces good results. Thus there is often pressure on local "experts " to make evaluations .So my own policy is to evaluate the situation and make an appraisal but at the same time warn the client that I am not a properly trained astrologer .If I can help them understand the situations in their life they are encountering then good . On the other hand if they have trouble with my interpretation then they can feel free to ignore it .I will not be offended .The best astrologers also make mistakes. The devotees and management here are happy with this approach . Your Servant Yadu Srestha
