Guest guest
> Some quotes from Manu Samhita: Thank you for the wonderful quotes. They leave no doubt that women should be respected, and in fact that the protection and well-beeing of women is a necessity for a well working society. Women might be inferior in that they need to be protected, taken care of, and need reverence, but that does not in any way mean that women have less value. It does not mean that women are less capable, have bad judgement, or anything else than that women are not so good in protecting themselves and therefore need protection. So the man-group, who want to reform the women situation in ISKCON should do, is to build up the protection of those classes of society who should be protected. Then their other goals will be accomplished automatically. Women as a class does not have the same need of competing as men has. They are pretty happy with the situation as it is, if it is a good working situation, and only get active to change the situation, if there is something seriously wrong with it. Only if the men cannot handle their part. Unfortunately, when the women get active in this field, the women field is in danger of neglect, and the whole society gets disturbed. Men get scared when women gets on the march, and use the only tactic they know -- to fight back, forgetting for a moment that they themselves need the women. And we get havoc and the battle of the sexes. The men need to review their own act, fix it up, make it work, and the women will automatically put down the battle axes. This is because it is not the women nature to fight like men, and they will follow their own nature if given possibility.
