It is with great sadness thet I inform the Vaisnava astrologers of the

passing of Dr. B.V.Raman last week.Dr.Raman was a pioneer in the field of

producing jyotish literature in English and made a monumental contribution

to the teaching of jyotish in the Western world .He was a great believer

in the authority of the Vedas and opponent of skepticism .His books are

highly recommended for anyone trying to get a grounding in Vedic astrology.

In his personal life he was a sincere upholder of dharma .The circumstances

of his passing was that he had a heart attack whilst editing his

astrological magazine .
