Most introductory books will explain aspects .If Jupiter is in the 5th house

then it aspects the 9th 11th and 1st houses and the occupants there of.For

example if Mars was in the 9th it would be aspected or influenced by

Jupiter.To determine the effect of that influence one has to consider the

strength and nature of Jupiter, the strength of Mars, the relationship

between the two planets, the relationship of Jupiter to the 9th house and

the sign that occupies the 9th house.So in theory it is quite simple but in

practise it takes a thorough understanding of the basics of Vedic Astrology

planets,signs and houses.

 

There is a good book by Pandit Ojha and his son called Aspects which gives

basic explanations of the results of aspects and conjunctions in various

combinations.
