Here its about 10:00pm-01:00am AGAIN!!!

 

Ideally it should be taken care to protect what we have against his

influence.

 

Not cooking the 7 o'clock and putting the Deities to rest early that night

wouldn't be such a big imposition. Possibly change the offerings around as

you do on a Sunday and give the Lord a nice offering before the eclipse and

then make sure the place is nicely cleaned and closed, and the maha stashed

away out of the view of the eclipse and not left out in the Deity kitchen

or devotee kitchen.

 

Also all fruits, veges etc should be covered.

 

Devotees could hold kirtan, or chant japa during the actual eclipse, that's

what we did at the last one, and then when it was over we went to bed

(00:30am).

 

If you have mothers who are pregnant remind them not to eat, drink, sew

cloth, sew / thread garlands, cut paper, etc. And to stay in doors with the

curtains closed - even though you wont see anything why tempt fate.

...you could always assemble all the devotees in the courtyard and at the

time of perumbra all go and stand in the fish pond and have kirtan, and at

the umbra submerge into the waters and come up chanting HK HK KK HH HR HR

RR HH maha mantra...
