Astrology and Medicine

Dear devotees

in some private correspondence between myself and Goloka Candra Prabhu he

informed me that some devotees are favoring caesarians in order to fix the

time of their child's birth ( I hasten to add this is not the case with Gopa

Patni Mataji who has been told to have a Caesarian on medical grounds ). I

do not at all agree with this practise and I have pointed out that one can

not expect to hugely alter one's karma on the basis of muhurta and secondly

there is no guarantee that a scheduled operation will take place on time .

 

So my advice is leave medicine in the hands of the experts even if we do not

agree with their paradigm and even if sometimes they are biased by financial

considerations . At least they are well trained which is not the case with

most astrologers . I know one book where the author boasts how he told his

client that he did not need surgery although his Doctor was advising it

..Such a policy could be extremely dangerous if the astrologer is not expert

in medicine . So it would seem to me that if you are going to interfere with

medical advice on astrological grounds you should be both expert in

astrology and medicine .
