In the Vedic day, in exchange for their services, the brahmanas were remunerated according to the means of the individual. The result was that poor people were not denied astrology or medical service when needed, and richer people gave generously. When the general population is trained to properly honor the science of Jyotish then there becomes no need to charge fixed prices. In this day, however, it is not so easily done, as many people try to take advantage without proper respect for what the astrologer is representing.
