As far as I know the pure species will be spoilt or changed more and more in

each successive generation.

 

For instance a rust free wheat will have these characteristics bred into it.

If the seed plants are cross pollinated then the rust free characteristics

can be lost or superceeded by other characteristics.

 

This is a complex business, taking ones own seed and trying to preserve

certain characteristics on a large scale. Does anyone we know know of more

details? Has ISKCON gotten into this on a large scale?
