Guest guest
Hari Krishna to all The method of cooling your drinking water is similar to our desert ancestors and their clay water pots if the clay was unglazed water would sweat through the pot and cool the water as it sat or swung in its net bag in the shade of the brush arbor (sorta sun shade made from a pile of brush piled upon the top of branches to provide a cool working area during the summer. As for getting dysentery, well, it is a water born ameba. If you boil the water for twenty minutes you kill the little devils. letting the water set four days really won't help unless it has been filtered to the point the amebas will starve because of lack of food, but don't count on it even then. If you place water in a copper vessel that has been freshly scoured. The copper from the pot will kill most organisms. The pot must be freshly scoured till shiny inside. If only the outside has been scoured it doesn't help. The fresh shiny copper will kill many bacteria. If the copper has formed an oxide you know that dull brown color the copper is sealed away from the water and is not half as effective. If you are in a hurry and do not have a copper pot, an Iodine tablet per liter or quart for twenty minutes will also work. Yes yes I know.you would rather chew off your arm rather than put chemicals in your body. Well, then you will have a souvenir of your trip. You will have many amusing stories of scenic trips to exotic bathrooms and loos around the world. As well as adventures behind road side bushes and the joys of stomach cramps. Water seeping throught he canvas would evaporate and the effects of evaporative cooling would keep the water cool. The old 42 Chevy trucks had a nice headlight that worked well for hanging the bag from. Then we got thermos bottles. Well, then you will have a souvenir of your trip.
