Guest guest
>My understanding is that by helping somone in any way to kill animals or to cause distress to other living beings of any kind in any way is bad karma, bad karma. (like making it easer for them to breed and maintain herds of sheep to kill) even if it makes you or your land richer there are other ways to inprove fertility of land look at mother nature see how she does it GAURA I was not aware that anyone kept sheep in ISKCON. > > But the question still remains is there any legislation or ruling or > whatever that says one cannot bring on someone elses animals for a period > to fertilise your land? > > >Why not if it improves the quality of the pasture and thus the cows > >nutrition and carrying capacity of the land. Voisin defenitely recommends > >it, if I remember it correct. > > (Bhakta Dirk) What does the rest of ISKCON think about this? Are there going to be any comments. Or is it up to each individual. >there are other ways to inprove fertility of land look at mother nature see >how she does it But mother nature is not trying to feed so many people Prasadam from a small piece of land. There is intensive ag and not so intensive ag. Anyway, if, as we have heard, ISKCON does have sheep in places then the use of these for an intensive system would not be in any way wrong. Intensive ag is necessary if you are trying to feed a lot of people NOW. Waiting for nature to produce at Her rate is fine if you have the time and not a lot of hungry people who can't wait - who will starve. I know what you're saying ideally - but practically.................. Again there are different methods of farming. King Prthu exploited the earth for abundance.........
