Dogs, ah, what bitter sweet memories. Do you want a dog to protect your

property by attacking and possibly killing intruders? If so both will do.

If you want a dog to menace and alert you to strangers, well almost any dog

will do! To have a real cacophony of sound get three medium size mongrels

they are menacing and loud and territorial. If you live in an area where

your life may be in danger get big dogs. I personally have had dogs with

blood lines that would put my entire tribe to shame. However pure bred dogs

have inbred problems. German shepherds have hip displasia that may cripple

them by mid-life. These dogs have be bred to conform to a certain set of

criterion that may cause untrustworthy people to breed only for those traits.

Results dogs with terrible personalities and physical problems that look

really good. Remember that German shepherds bond with you for life, you can

give them away but they do not take as well to another owner. Dogs are not

vegetarians! People who feed dogs a pure vegetarian meal usually have UN

well dogs. The best dogs I have ever had were mutts. They were cheap,

usually healthy and had fewer personality problems. ALL DOGS can be taught

to pull wagons. So if you get several dogs they can do a lot of work for

you. Then there is dog POOP. What to do with it? How about dogs who

serenade the neighbor hood every single night, what do you do? I am

currently dogless but soon I will end up with some mutt in my life they just

wander up the drive way and I find them sitting out side wagging their tails

hopefully. Some half starved some almost dead of thirst some "given" to me

when they became too big or trashed someone's house or garden. I currently

only have cats who pay their keep by eating scorpions and snakes and the

birds that raid my garden. They bury their own poop are very territorial and

make poor watch cats however they are great alarm cats and are great for

ridding gardens of mice, rats, and squirrels..... and they are quiet! But I

will soon have a dog to annoy me soon. Most critters are welcome but not

all. Think before you buy! Mutts are usually free and serve as well as

their more expensive kin, and seem to be more healthy and have less

personality disorders than pure breeds. To my limited experience of having

had at least forty dogs in my life time of all breeds or no particular breed.
