HARE KRSNA

pamho agtsp

Radha Krsna dasa prabho

good to see you back on com

myself I am going to spain to work on the vegan eco-village

i am setting up there

I will only be contactable

via e-mail at; gaura77 (AT) hotmail (DOT) com

so unfortunatly i will not be visiting com for a month or 2

i cant rember what conection my article was with sheeps wool

i wish you well with your ideas and buisnes plan re composting

i think this is a worthey project for a devotie grehasta

this combined with natural farming technices will give good results

in my back garden i have been composting all my food waist for 10 years and

growing things without much diging practicaly none it looks wild as is

natural in nature basicaly it is full of food and most of it was self sown

it just re-seeds its self sometimes i put in seed or bianual vege whole like

carrots beet etc from a shop so they can go to seed for next year i pull out

the brambles and bind weed 4 times a year thats it

if one thing takes over i sow mustard or somthing and swamp it or cut it

down with a macheti or multch it with cardboard i never leave the land bare

the compost heaps i move around the garden evrry month or 3 just fork it

along a bit these create a clean patch where they have been saves diging the

worms have driled the ground and there is good fertility

i found jeruslam artichokes were good in the uk as they grow 8 ft high and

need no attention at all except planting and diging to eat not even storage

there are many vege like this, PFAF has stock,

if we streach the imagination a bit away from the socal norms of what food

should look like is fasionable easy to buy in shops fits in with a

perticular culture or due to advertising is popular to eat we will find

there is loads of food under our noses

MOVINGING IN TO A NEW HEAD SPACE LIKE CHANGING DIET AND LIFE STYLE, AS I AM

SURJESTING OR AS YOU ARE RECOMENDING COMPOSTING ETC THIS = SOCAL CHANGE THIS

TAKES TIME PEOPLE ARE LOCKED INTO FLUSHING ETC RARTHER THAN DOING WHAT IS

GOOD FOR THEM SELVES AND THE PLANET = THERE CHILDREN'S FUTURE

OUR JOB IS TO SHOW HOW IT IS POSIBLE TO LIVE WITHIN THE LAWS OF NATURE AND

UNDER THE LAWS OF GOD/KRSNA WITCH ARE ONE AND THE SAME,

AND TO BE HAPPY DOING SO

PEOPLE JUDGE DEVOTIES BY THERE COMITMENT TO WHAT IS GENRALY PRECEIVED TO BE

THE HIGHEST PRINCIPLE THEY ARE AWAIR OF AND ECOLIGY IS A RECENTLY ADOPTED

MORAL OF SOCIETY

Amen to that brother!

I find that my neighbors who really don't like me very much, expect me

to live to a higher standard. I bought two cans of beer one to kill snails

the other to try washing my hair ( it is supposed to make your hair very soft

and manageable, alas it did not!) One of my insufferable holier than thou

neighbors types was aghast to see me buy beer. "I though you Harry Crisners

didn't drink" she huffed at me. I showed her the article in ladies home

journal that espoused beer as a hair rinse. She announced "hah you can't

fool me, you are a drunk! " I was laughing so hard I almost dropped my

purchases. Then I told her that snails can be killed by leaving out dishes

of beer for them. She was so furious and she was so funny, I was howling

with laughter. The lady at the check out counter told her she had tried it

after I had told her about it and it had solved her snail problem and that

really pissed her off even more. Every one in the check out line was

chuckling with mirth as that loud mouthed fool marched out. What made it

really funny is that she had just bought two half gallon bottles of whisky

and was telling the check out lady it was to calm her nerves.... Well, it

will do that I will give her that! We are held to a higher standard I must

agree. I was really quite proud of her for being upset with me. Her husband

is a Preacher at a fundamentalist church. We should be an example. And

should be held to a higher standard. I have had an opportunity to preach on

several occasions when people have noticed I never buy meat or booze So I

explain to them why and don't elaborate too much. The same woman has ask me

dozens of questions over the last year an I have invited her to "church " for

the Sunday free feast "perhaps next month she will go. So remember our words

mean nothing because our actions are screaming so loudly most folks can't

hear over our actions, so let them preach for you.

HARE KRSNA

yes we as devoties and aspiring devoties have taken on the job directly or

by affiliation the job of setting a good exhample to the world the genral

population look up to someone as it is the nature of the soul to serve to

love to show ore and reverance etc

so we have this job weather we like it or not people expect us to live up to

some standard even if we only go to the temple on sunday or once a year

as initiated deciples (or ones who accept the message) we are ortherised to

spread krsna conciousness all over the universe (if we can) some will give

books etc but we all preach nowingly or un-nowlingy by exhample

thats why we need places to demonstrate farming and grehasta life

as well as temples with sanyasis and bramachareys both and every aspect of

varna and ashram is needed to set an exhample to the people in general and

to aspiring devoties

we all fit into a varna and an ashram as well as our dharma as servents this

is somthing i find myself that i am more eficiant doing what i like acording

to my nature, i am shure you all now this but

i just listend to a tape of srla Prabhupada talking about varna and ashram

and wanted to relate what i herd as i would like to see more grehasta farm

communites developing heare and there

by for now
