Guest guest
Philosophical Question: The subject seems to have been dropped as far as I can see on the philosophical question of temporarily grazing another animal(s) on your land. If a devotee has a small holding without necessarily being able to hold stock like sheep or even maybe ducks, goats etc. because he cannot guanantee being able to support them for their whole lives. Then are we saying it is incorrect to have a neighbours stock come graze/root your land, and as one devotee put it get prasadam, for a while to help keep the weeds down etc., fertilize the land (this is making donation) and help out with your problems? Visitors come to the temple they stay a while take some Prasad and then go away. They may be going away to continue to be killers of their eternal soul,as the expression goes, but they were benefitted by taking Prasad and associating with devotees and maybe making a donation. [in New Zealand they (karmis) Mob-graze land with sheep before planting a new crop, specifically to keep down the slug population.] I see this could be like the seeds that can't be organic because they didn't come from an organic source. or not being able to be a Vaisnava because you were not born into a Vaisnava family. Is there a difference between doing this and say 'carte blanche' renting out land for grazing beef stock, which is what happened in Europe, and which was clearly deemed as unacceptible. It is going to be a fine line somewhere; what would happen if a visitor came to your temple on horse back and left it grazing (and maybe making a donation) while going in to see the Deities?
