Guest guest
Dear Samba prabhu, Well, you could maybe do something in Africa when the time comes. Oxfam were very interested and saw my systems the day before they left for Mozambique. They said there there are many people who do not know what a toilet is and that they would let me know when they return. They were to install 7,000 latrines. I will make contact with them again. How is it illegal to move excreta around in India. The picture in our book shows effluent thrown out of a septic tank onto the surface of the road. So how is it illegal? I saw them fetching it out with buckets. So it wasn't illegal when I was there. - Please explain. We would be improving the lot of the bungie class if they learnt the SATVIK system. A city, as agreed by Abhiram, was managed in a simple way in that behind every row of houses, as in front, there is a road. Just like in rural England there is a pathway at the bottom of everyones garden adjoined by more gardens on the other side of the pathway. This pathway is for access to leave out your wheelie bin for collection by the municipality. Similarly, this access is just made wide enough to take a bullock cart so that one man can cover a large area in one day. He, and all other collections are then channeled to a local 'waste disposal site' which is surrounded by bamboo trees for conveninece. There the waste is composted and the end product sold back to the householders for their gardens. QED.
