Guest guest
Dear Matajis and Prabhus please accept my humble obeisances, all glories to Srila Prapnhupada. Thanks, I received some positiv reply about permaculture. Here are some more informations: With permaculture sustainable landscapes can be designed. One tool that is used are the zones. The garden, the farm, the project is divided into different zones. Zone Function 00 Self 0 House, 1 Area around the house, vegetables, spices, herbs 2 Eatable landscape, fruittrees, plants that live several years and produce nice fruits 3 smaller animals, trees 4 place for bigger animals, wood 5 wild nature, wood for heating and furniture Another concept are the horizons. Normal industrial agriculture grows only in one horizont, whereas Mother Nature grows in several horizons like in the rainforest. You have roots and plants in in the earth, then herbs, then bushes, than small trees, middle trees, huge trees and plants that are growing vertically up the trees. So we can grow in seven horizons and thus using our space as best as we can. This way of growing does not impede the developpment of different planst but actually creates a good atmosphere for many plants to grow and animals to develop. Different plants create good chemical combination in the earth. Alltogether we have to run away from monoculture agriculture that only developped out of one reason: machines. And all the effects of this monoculture are really bad to the land. It is artificial. Most of our earth is finished after forty years of industrial agriculture. One important thing are the circles. Watercircle, nutrition cicle. We can not afford to send the water away with a canal. We should keep it on the land, clean it with a sewage plant based on roots, and use it again. Also the human excrements should be composted and used a fertilizers and not be flushed down the toilet with valuable drinking water. We can easily create eatable landscapes around our projects and going a huge step into the self sufficient way of life. Thanks. I can give you more information if you like. your servant Navanitacora das
