The Br. vaivarta Pr. says : "A brAhmana should be known by his birth. He is called Dvija, [twice born] on account of his purificatory ceremonies. He becomes a vipra by knowledge. One who possesses all these is called srotriya" Priya : for it is said, "Whether he is ignorant or learned the brAhmana is my body". BhAskararAya's Commentary Translated into English by R.
