There has been a bit of discussion about alternate nostril breathing  lately.

I typically do 5-7 minutes of this breathing  before my  yoga practice and do

appreciate the relaxed, balanced feeling I  experience.

However, I am curious if anyone knows if the left nostril/right  brain,

right nostril/left brain connection has been  scientifically/medically proven?  I

know it has a calming effect, but I do  not want to make statements in a class

with doctors and nurses that might  undermine my credibility. It makes sense

to me, but I have limited medical  knowledge.  I wanted to check this out with

the group as many of  you seem most knowledgeable.
