(AP) A man who admitted helping several cohorts chase, kill and butcher a valuable Holstein dairy cow on a northeast Indiana farm has been sentenced to six months in jail. Twenty-year-old Perry Dominguez may serve his sentence on work release if he qualifies, so that he can begin to repay nearly $7,500 restitution to Penick Dairy Farms near Orland for the cow. Dominguez is one of six young men accused of chasing and killing the cow. According to court documents, they carried butchering tools and cut meat from the cow's carcass, cooking it up at one of the defendant's homes. In exchange for his guilty plea, Dominguez is expected to testify against the others. The dairy has also filed a civil suit, seeking triple damages.
