Guest guest
Hi! All of the teachers you mentioned are great and valid but if you want to learn Ashtanga, only Eddie Stern ( probably the closest to Guruji, Pattabhi Jois, the founder of Ashtanga), Guy and Cristopher teach it. Dharma Mittra has developed his own Asana sequence (flowing like Ashtanga and lots of fun, but NOT Ashtanga), Cindy Lee incorporates Buddhist teachings and Yoga Works, well... What can I say?..has been recently bought up by two 'corporate' guys so I am not sure how that affect the teachings... Ashatanga is traditionally practiced 5-6 days a week so location might be a more burning issue: which Shala is closest to you? Try them all out and find your own teacher.... Always the best way... I practice Ashtanga only because Ashtanga teachers where my favorites... Hope to have been of some help! Guest guest
Also Yoga Sutra is a new studio on 42nd and 5th across from the NY Public Library. Chris Hildenbrandt, certified by Pattabi Jois, runs the Ashtanga program...I think it is Yogasutranyc.com...OM, Shanti, Mary
