Guest guest
Dear Yaduraja Prabhu, PAMHO. AGTSP! > Your challenge assumes a philosophy that I have never heard of. That we > can only accept the activities of the spiritual master as fulfilling > Krishna's plan when he accompanies his acts with the assertion that he is > fulfilling Krishna's plan. >From where did you get that absurd philosophy? Please quote. My challenge is based on following statement: "The process of speaking in spiritual circles is to say something upheld by the scriptures. One should at once quote from scriptural authority to back up what he is saying." (Bg 17.15 purport) You said that it was Krishna's plan to have Srila Prabhupada as the sole diksa guru for ISKCON. And I asked you to back this up by a quote. > Yet Srila Prabhupada states that the devotee is always carrying out > Krishna's plan, and is always guided by Krishna. Since the word 'always' > must apply to the years 1966 - 1977 we can be absolutely certain that in > establishing himself as the sole diksa guru for ISKCON he was fulfilling > Krishna's plan, and therefore wanted to do it. Please don't again waste time proving things that I did not ask you to prove. I did not ask you to prove that Srila Prabhupada acted according to Krishna's plan. I did not ask you to prove that Srila Prabhupada wanted to do what he did. I asked you to prove your claim that it was Krishna's plan to have Srila Prabhupada as the sole diksa guru for ISKCON. > If you accept his statements as proof of following Krishna's plan then you > cannot then contradict yourself by claiming that between 1966-77 he may > not have been following Krishna's plan in setting up the movement with > ONLY himself as the diksa guru, since that would go against the statements > in the B.g.. Please quote my statement where I claimed that between 1966-77 Srila Prabhupada may not have been following Krishna's plan in setting up the movement with only himself as the diksa guru. Or apologize for your lie that I claimed it. Summary: You have not produced a proof free from logical fallacies that it was Krishna's plan to have Srila Prabhupada as the sole diksa guru for ISKCON. You are even ignoring those statements by Srila Prabhupada that do not fit in your philosophy. You are ignoring those statements that confirm that Srila Prabhupada wanted several diksa gurus for ISKCON. I would like to terminate this discussion about your point a) because you are obviously unable to produce a proof free from logical fallacies that in 1966 Srila Prabhupada wanted to be the sole diksa guru for ISKCON. (I am aware that you don't see the logical fallacy called "affirming the consequent" in your argument. But it is there. If you don't believe me, ask Krishnakant.) So your point a) is: Srila Prabhupada made himself recognized and accepted as the sole diksa guru for ISKCON in 1966. (Just that, nothing more). If you agree with that, we can move to your point b) ("Srila Prabhupada never ordered that he should ever stop being the diksa guru for ISKCON"). Of course you can also drop out of this debate, leaving your points b) and c) unproven. ys Ramakanta dasa
