It is also my belief that a serious reader would see the heading Prohibited and become confused by the negative. Guest guest
Hare Krsna dasi Both sides have good points. I still think the standard should be legally and grammatically correct. But-- where there might be any ambiguity, a second sentence can be added to insure that the meaning is completely clear. Theoretical example: Prohibitted: 1. Inadequate pasturing for cows and oxen: Animals must not be kept tethered in their stalls for extended periods of time. ------------------- Would an approach like this be useful to clear up parts that may be ambiguous? your serant, Hare Krsna dasi On Fri, 11 Dec 1998, WWW: Rohita (Dasa) ACBSP (New Talavan MS - USA) wrote: > [Text 1928453 from COM] > > On 10 Dec 1998, ISCOWP Balabhadra Dasa & Chaya Dasi - USA wrote: > > > Dvibhuja prabhu suggested several months ago that in the prohibited category > each sentence should clearly read in the negative on their own since some > people may skim the standards, not read them carefully and get the wrong > impression.
