Dear Jayo prabhu and esteemed devotees -

 

Hare Krsna. Please accept my obeisances. All glories to His Divine Grace

Abhay Caran Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

 

I want to thank all of you for your recollections and information as

regards "hot banana milk" prasadam. As described below, many a time in

temples of yore, buckets overflowed with hot milk served with bananas --

to the delight of the devotees. I recall such events personally many

times while at Henry Street [1974-75] during Srila Prabhupada's manifest

lila among us. While this matter is not fully resolved here, one thing

is for certain: this is the International Society for Krishna

Consciousness -- not an Eastern cooking school [by taste or regional

preference].

I have personally seen Srila Prabhupada break a banana into milk on more

than one occaision and take it prepared on other occaisions. I

rememeber

when metal buckets full of hot banana milk was a common sight at a

number

of ISKCON temples. Indeed I began to think of it as almost a standard.

This

inspired me to introduce a number of hot milk/fruit combos and shakes

when I

took over the Vrindavan Snack Bar for a few weeks whilst Kadamba Karana

(now

Swami) got his visa renewed in Nepal or Pakistan, after Disappearance.

Lately, I've read in Dr.Vasant Lad's recent book, "Complete Book of

Ayurvedic Home Remedies" tha it is an incmpatible combo.
