Guest guest
Dear Prabhus, PAMHO. AGTSP. So it is official now. Over a year's hard work from the members of this conference produced the Minimum Cow Protection Standards. They are now ISKCON Law. One can view them on the ISCOWP web page http://www.angelfire.com/co/iscowp It is also suppose to be aapendix B on the GBC minutes which has everyone's name who contributed. But I noticed on the Chakra page that there was no Appendix B. Has anyone seen appendix B? Now the next step is enforcing the standards. To help to do this we need to have simple but comprehensive forms to fill out when there is a report of cow abuse. The first ones should be for the GBC or his/her representative (Monitor). Things like census, feed availabe, pasture available, names of cowherds, projets being undertaken, work projects oxen have undertaken, a financial report. If it was reasonably standardized, with like an essay at the end for general comments or observations, it would be easier to do, the cowherds would now what was expected each quarter, the Minister of Cow Protection would have a way of tracking what goes on etc. Plus, as is inevitable, if the monitor were to be changing from time to time, they would have some continuity of reportage. One copy kept on file at goshalla for inspections, one on file at GBC man, or passed on to successor GBC, and one copy to Minister. Some more specific ideas? Any body put forth a suggested pro forma standardized report yet/ If so I missed it. If no one else does I will do one as a starting point, but it is always so much easier to critique someone else's work.
