Guest guest
Sorry, the quote came from Balbhadra, not Hare Krsna dasi. I don't think HK dasi was wrong in making a statement about sannyasi's in luxury. It is common in Iskcon, though certainly not always the case, that sannyasi's have more luxury than the average grhasta, whereas they are supposed to be renounced. Oh, but we have "yukta vairagya"...Sorry, I forgot. ys, niscala. ____ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
Guest guest
Whatever but what has that got to do with cows. Do we say I take care of cows so I can say I can relate everything to that. It is just not the purpose of the cow program, nor is it becoming to hear slanderous, unfounded remarks. Should I then attack the ashrama from the person slinging the original mud. It just isn't mature conversation to criticize Sanyassis because I claim to be a cow advocate. Should we then investigate your life. You see it is like tar baby. Once you go there, it becomes counterproductive. It has nothing to do with glorifying mother cow. Rather we should glorify the wonderful sacrifice by the devotees, Especially the renounced. Not fault find because we are dissatisfied with our own personal position. So I hope that I am clear that I don't know anything about Maharajs's because I live here on a farm where I am not to jusge them or any other group and if I did would the cow conference be the place. Would any public forum. So maybe all of us could agree that the general rules of Viasnava etiquette apply to those who are taking care of cows too. Even though the cow program has special considerations, still it doesn't transcend Krishna conscious behavior. As for the 2000 dollar thing, I must confess I thought the origian proposal was 2000 dollars for a cow program. If you mean 2000 per cow then perhaps that is a lot more reasonalble. We spend about 8000 per year in hay alone and I thnk it is about 10000 in grain and then the misscellaneous so in the neighborhood of 30 thousand dollars a year to maintain our herd here at New Talavan. This all comes from donations from the devotees. No one working with the cow program receives any payment. So that is not included. I still fell very respectful and reverent for all those who are in the renounced order though. I'm sorry I every mentioned sannyasis in luxury. That is not the point. Perhaps I should have said nicely painted temple. Or even rent paid on the temple. The point is not the luxury. The point is, that unless there is a trust set up to protect the cows, then there is no guarantee that the funds will not be diverted to other purposes -- even if those purposes seem to be important at the time. I'm still wondering what the donors to Murari Sevaka's cow program thought about how their donations were spent. I'm sure they would have much preferred that the funds be spent to protect the cows rather than for other purposes -- urgent though they may have seemed at the time. Cow trust means that funds donated to protect cows are actually used for Krsna's cows and not for some other purpose -- no matter how worthy or unworthy it may seem at the time. your servant, Hare Krsna dasi
Guest guest
That is always the case with management and I thank you for sticking up for the cow programs needs. I have experienced the struggle as I am sure all participants in the cow programs have. By Krishna's Grace and His Divine Grace's mercy I think gradually we will become more opulent as we become more Krishna conscious.I beg to remain your servant.
